July Update

It's been a while since I've done an update, and considering it's also been a long time since I've had a release you might be wondering what's been happening or what I have coming up my sleeve.

I'd also love some input from you about The Attic. We've been in this space since January and I'd love to hear from you what's working well, how much you visit the attic and what kinds of things you like to see.

Signings

Talk about coming out of the pandemic with a bang! This year I've already done three signings. Two in Australia and one in the UK. In October I'll be in the US at GRL. Next year I'll be in the UK for a signing in Blackpool, Paris for RARE and at the moment a couple more European signings I can't reveal yet.

I love doing these signings and meeting people, but I'm not gonna lie, they're time consuming and all the travel does impact on my work schedule.

Publishing - please don't share this information as most of it won't be shared anywhere just yet.

As you know I'm working on the Spencer Brothers series. My editor is working on book one and on Monday I sent her a short Christmas novella set in the same world. I'm starting work on book 2 this week. By the end of the summer all three books will be ready.

I'm hoping to roll these out with audiobook narration at the same time.

In addition to that I'll continue to publish chapters of The Island. With the deadlines I've had I haven't had a chance to write more chapters but it I'll be catching up with them since they're also due in my newsletter.

After I finish Spencer Brothers I need to work on a standalone novella which will be for a project I'm leading with Rhys. That's going to be a Chester Falls novella.

I'm so looking forward to this one, especially as it's set a little in the future with two characters that readers have asked for in the past.

Speaking of Chester Falls, I've commissioned alternative covers for the paperbacks. These will be available in the wide markets and I hope to roll them out at some point in the next month. There are a few things I still need to do for these covers which are pending because of my deadlines but I'll keep you updated.

By the time I come back home from the US in October I'll be starting on the next Dads of Stillwater. I can't wait to get Seymour and Theo's story but I'm glad to have a little break and do something different.

Tell me more...

I'd love to know a little more about your experience of The Attic. Do you want more content? More frequent micro fics? (I know I've slacked on those a little because of deadlines.) Are the giveaways not enough? O maybe you're not interested?

My mission is to make this space a great one for those who support my writing so I want to know how I can improve it.

Monthly reminders

There are yet no entries for July's monthly draw, which is a small pack of swag that I've included in my bags at RARE. I know it's a pain to have to enter each month but because readers might come to the attic on a free trial and then cancel, it would become a real cumbersome piece of work to sort through the live members to do a draw. If I can copy the entries from the response form and then paste them on the randomizer, it takes me a minute.

I love answering questions from you. Don't forget the Q&A form is always open for you to ask all your pressing questions

Don't forget about your member's free downloads. If you haven't got them yet, check out the member's page in The Attic.

I think this is it for today. Tomorrow I'll bring you another chapter of the Spencer Brothers book one. I really must decide on a title. Comment below if you have any good ideas. Originally it was going to be His Fiancé, then I kind of decided on The Fiancé. But now I'm not so sure.

And...just to make sure you're reading this far down...would you like a live chat at some point soon? I can do a live chat with you, or if you want to submit questions, I can do a Q&A with my sister. This could be pre-recorded or live. She's coming here in a couple of weeks and be the voice to your questions.

See you around!
